What should I look for when I change my bandage?Updated 7 months ago

It is important during dressing changes that you take time to monitor your wound and the surrounding skin to look for signs of healing, such as a clean pink surface, a decrease in wound size, and progressively decreasing drainage.

If you use PowerHeal® Bioelectric Bandage with Adhesive (orange or purple box), the clear adhesive allows you to monitor the wound's surrounding skin in between bandage changes.

If you experience signs of infection in the wound or surrounding area such as increasing redness, pain, swelling, drainage, irritation, warmth, or the wound is increasing in size, please contact your healthcare professional.

Remember to always wash your hands with soap and water both before and after dressing changes, to reduce the risk of infection. If you're caring for someone else's wound, consider also wearing disposable gloves to reduce risk of infection or blood borne disease transmission.
