What happens if the bandage sticks to my wound when I go to change it?Updated 7 months ago

If your bandage becomes dry in between changes or there is a lot of dried blood or wound drainage, occasionally bandages may stick to the wound. If this happens, do not force it off. Instead, moisten the bandage and wound area thoroughly with clean water or saline and let it soak until the bandage can be removed without tissue disruption. When removing, do not lift the bandage straight up. Instead, slowly pull the bandage back, keeping it low and parallel to the skin surface.
