Do I have to use Energel® Wound Hydrogel as the battery activator?Updated 6 months ago

It is important that  both the PowerHeal® Bioelectric Bandage and your wound remain slightly moist for optimal product function and wound healing. We recommend using Energel® Wound Hydrogel  because our testing shows that Energel® maintains wound and bandage moisture longer than other ionic moisture sources like sterile saline (i.e. salt water).

If you are unable to use Energel® Wound Hydrogel, sterile saline or water may be used to activate PowerHeal® Bandage's microcell batteries. Remember that saline or water dry out sooner than Energel® Wound Hydrogel so it will be important to monitor your wound and PowerHeal® Bioelectric Bandage  for moisture maintenance. If you notice that the bandage or your wound is drying out between bandage changes, you may consider: adding a more liberal amount of Energel® Wound Hydrogel at bandage changes, or adding a small amount of moisture (like sterile saline or water) periodically to the absorbent pad in between bandage changes.
